How do you explain the Holy Trinity?

when Jesus said he was the son of God but he never in a direct way he said I am God and I am the same with God? if God is Father but he is also the son and the Holy Spirit? I found the Holy Spirit is just a spirit from God then what is it? why is it a person? how can you explain Jesus is the son of God but not God the creator but yes the same essence with God?
