My bestfriend just found out she has hsv-2?

Dont be too freaked out, it's really just a nusciance that lasts a lifetime; After the first outbreak, it is similar to having a mosquito bite or two, that comes and goes. My husband and I both have it, and we didnt get it from each other! It can only be spread through sex, not toothbruses or clothes, now HSV -1, mouth sores can be spread with the toothbrush, but that is a different virus. If you have it, you will know it, no need for a doctor visit, just be safe and use condoms, every time. It is very devestating news to anyone, I wanted to kill myself due to the stigma of it, and how bad my mother made me feel about it...but, after I found out that 1 in every 7 people you meet will also have it, it became not such a big deal, just no one wants to talk about it, so it seems aweful... but again, it is not. Try to comfort her and share this news with her; to avoid spreading it, she must insist on condom use, you are contagious days before the outbreak even appears, so you never know...I know when its coming due to the tired achey all over feelings I get with low grade fever, but then the actual "outbreak" only lasts for two days, and may go years betwwen another "outbreak"...especially if zoviarx cream is started right away, and used each time, they will become less frequent. They like to prescribe a pill now, but I find the topical works better, and I only use that when I need it...I hate taking pills and being a slave to big pharma. There is no cure, so again, my advice is to use the cream only, it is soothing, the pills are not. Its no big deal, ok...cold sores are the same virus, just affecting the mouth instead of the genitals...an inconience yes, contageous, yes, devestating, no...take it easy, be re assuring, it is NOT the end of the world, and its just part of the human condition.
