What is the BEST way to remove scratches from an Xbox 360 disc?

There's this one part in the game, every time I go there (it's in NBA 2K11), it freezes. I noticed there are some light scratches on my disk and this is probably why it's always freezing at that point. What is the BEST way to get rid of the scratches? I've heard some ways like using toothbrush, just using water, using nail polish, heck even using peanut butter. But I wanna know the BEST way.
