I was wondering about the linguistic changes in North and South Korea since they split...?

I saw a documentary on how some North Koreans had to be "retrained" to enter into South Korean society. I understand that it is harsh in the North, according to this documentary I saw, but as all it talked about was trying not to get killed when crossing the border I was just curious about the language change.
