Gums hurt when brushing?

Hey everyone recently when I have brushed my teeth my gums will hurt. It came out of nowhere because I have been using the same toothbrush for a long time. I have gingivitis but it was fine a week ago. After I brush little red dots that look like puncture wounds show up on the gums near the tooth. I have been taking medication for acid reflux not sure if it's the medication causing it. I'm not really sure what's going on but any help is needed, thanks
