How vague is Genesis 1 on how long creation took?

The first creation is Genesis 1:1 Then in the second verse in the original Hebrew language it literally says the earth "became" without form and void. This was because of Satan and the Angels that followed him in rebellion were judged and the creation they ruled over was destroyed. Then God created man to rule over the second creation and to be the avenue for the redeemer to dwell among us and deliver all of creation out from the bondage of Satan and mankinds sin. The void in time between the first and second verse is not revealed to us. It could have been millions of or only a few years.
